The NAPA Trick Truck Award
1st Chicagoland Nationals
Joliet, Ill.

It’s somewhat rare to find a rebuilt Dodge truck as so many people focus on restoring Chevy and Ford trucks, but for Jeremy Bach of Belleville, Ill., it’s a family affair. Jeremy’s father, Mike, is an invested restorer of Mopar/Chrysler vehicles and his passion led to Jeremy’s rebuild of the 1934 Dodge truck that took home the NAPA Trick Truck Award in Joliet, Ill., at the 1st Chicagoland Nationals Sept. 21 – 23.

The rebuild, which took two years to complete from scratch, started with a $200 truck cab and ended with the total value of the vehicle being approximately $60,000 - $70,000.

The all-black truck is powered by a 360 Mopar Magnum engine and a 727 Chrysler transmission. It also features Billet Specialties wheels, BF Goodrich tires, an Alpine stereo system and an Air Ride suspension.

The Dodge was rebuilt by Reality Roadshop – Jeremy’s hot rod design shop that is located within his father’s shop – Mike Bach Auto Body.

Jeremy’s truck was featured in the June 2005 issue of Street Rodder magazine and was a Pro’s Pick at the 6th Mid- western Nationals in Kansas City, Mo., earlier this year.

The trip to Joliet netted Bach a $100 NAPA gift certificate for tools from the on-site NAPA Tool & Equipment tent. In addition to the NAPA gift certificate, Jeremy also received:

  • Goodguys Rod & Custom Association Award
  • A die-cast model of the NAPA Overhaulin’ Delivery Truck
  • A NAPA hat, t-shirt and grease towel
