The NAPA Trick Truck Award
18th Autumn Get Together
Pleasanton, Calif.

When it comes to custom vehicles, beauty can’t be just skin deep. Gustavo Berragen’s attention to detail on both the exterior and interior of his custom 2000 Chevy Silverado won him a NAPA Trick Truck award at the 18th Autumn Get Together in Pleasanton, Calif., November 10 – 11.

The exterior of Berragen’s Silverado is black with ghost flames. It rides on 20” Boyd Coddington wheels wrapped in Toyo tires, highlighted by Cadillac taillights. The interior features JL Audio W3 subwoofers and TVs in the headrests with a Playstation gaming console built in.

The truck is powered by a Chevy 327 engine, and also features a full Air-Ride suspension. Berragen, a Goodguys member since 2000, relies on the NAPA AUTO PARTS store on 14th Street in Oakland, Calif., for wear parts like belts, hoses and clamps.

Berragen handled the customization by himself with the exception of the paint job which was done by KJ’s Auto Body.

The trip to Pleasanton netted Berragen a $100 NAPA gift certificate for tools from the on-site NAPA Tool & Equipment tent. In addition to the NAPA gift certificate, Berragen also received:

  • Goodguys Rod & Custom Association Award
  • A die-cast model of the NAPA Overhaulin’ Delivery Truck
  • A NAPA hat, t-shirt and grease towel
