Casey's Tour Journal

Casey Ackerman was born in Marietta, Ohio, on October 2nd, 1982. The son of a middle-class teacher and a homemaker, he spent his formative years in Graysville, Ohio – the heart of Monroe County, home of the Monroe County District Library. Casey was an ambitious youth, so ambitious in fact, that during his junior year of high school he enrolled as a full-time college student at Ohio University Eastern. By the time he graduated high school, he was already going into his junior year at Ohio University. He claims he achieved this by never sleeping.

It was around this time that Ackerman started to get some gasoline in his veins. He and his friends began a small-time demolition derby group in Southeast Ohio, known as "The X's". Although his derby career was short-lived (a whopping two years), Casey quickly developed a taste for speed and full throttle power.

In 2004, Casey graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, with a degree in Sport Industry. He immediately took a position the Ohio Valley Greyhounds, an indoor football team based in Wheeling, West Virginia that he had interned for the previous two seasons. The ever-humble Casey was shocked to learn that he was a candidate for the Assistant General Manager position in late 2004. But as glorious as the title may have seemed, the kid wonder from Marietta needed more.

In May of 2005, Casey left the football team and signed on to do a promotional tour with Cooper Tires. While this tour was full of adrenaline, excitement, and of course, tires, Casey needed a tour he could relate to. Later that year, he took on the responsibilities of touring with NAPA's Orange County Chopper Drag Bike, built on the Discovery Channel's "American Chopper". He and the bike toured together from July of 2005 up until December of 2006 and they became very close. While on tour, Casey logged over 60,000 miles and made over 125 stops, spanning across 40 states. His favorite stops included the Bikes, Blues, and BBQ festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas; the St. Patrick's Day Festival in Shamrock, Texas, and the rest stop in Oklahoma.

Now Casey is proud to be heading up the NAPA Overhaulin' Truck tour as it makes its ravels along the Goodguys Rod & Custom Show Tour.

Casey currently lives in Blacklick, Ohio, just ten minutes east of Columbus. He is a diehard Buckeyes, Bluejackets, and Cleveland Indians fan, a flag-waving fanatic of Michael Waltrip and the #55 NAPA Toyota Camry, and card carrying member of the Knight Rider Fan Club. He loves sports and likes to help out on his brother Jason's ant farm. Ackerman also has one sister, Carey; a mom, Connie; a dad, Phil; six nieces and nephews; and one God-daughter, Gavry.

And believe it or not, ladies, he's single.
